An overhead crane is a machinery designed to lift and relocate materials or goods from one location to another with precise motion, eliminating the need for manual manoeuvring. These cranes are commonly utilized in factories, warehouses, shipyards, and other industrial settings to facilitate the lifting and movement of heavy objects within their designated operational areas. In industrial settings, three primary types of cranes are typically employed: Bridge Cranes, Gantry Cranes, and Jib Cranes.
Due to their substantial size, mishandling or negligent use of overhead cranes can result in significant damage. Therefore, it is imperative for operators to be mindful of the hazards associated with unsafe practices. The Overhead Crane Training Program equips operators with the knowledge of proper crane and load handling procedures, along with preventive measures to enhance workplace safety. This course, approved by both CSA and OSHA, covers industry-standard information and enables workers to attain certification as Overhead Crane Operators.
